Sports Facilities

Beyond the development of skills, our facilities support students in their goals of leading healthy and active lifestyles. At Diyafah, we focus on providing holistic education, allowing our students to explore their talents, develop their skills and enhance their abilities, whilst enjoying an active, healthy lifestyle; sport and physical education play a central role in our curriculum.

Each of our students enjoy varied physical activities and to facilitate the uniqueness of every child in 2020 DIS expanded its facilities to include:

• Air-conditioned, multi-purpose sports hall (Winne Dcunha Hall)
• 25-metre, temperature controlled indoor pool
• High quality surface, outdoor tennis, and basketball courts
• Astroturf multi-use games area

Winnie D'Cunha Hall (Multi-Purpose Hall)

The extensive, air-conditioned, multi-purpose sports hall is the main indoor teaching space for the Physical Education Department. It is marked out and fitted with all the equipment needed to teach a vast array of indoor sports. We also have added separate boys and girls changing room, adjacent to the hall. The multi-purpose hall will also house an impressive stage with large scale digital projection facilities which means it can also easily convert into an auditorium for assemblies, performances and other large-scale events.

Swimming Pool

The brand-new swimming facility is just under our Multipurpose Hall, fitted with a temperature control system to maintain ambient water temperature for students use all year round. It also has a separate changing and shower facility for boys and girls. To ensure security and safety of our students, the access to the swimming pool has been equipped with Access Control Systems.

Innovation with Science & Technology

Innovation through science and technology are guaranteed to be an essential part of our children’s workforce in the future. So, it goes without saying that it is imperative that our students have access to the most up-to-date equipment and learning tools.

Our campus includes a wide range of science and technology resources and facilities that have been expertly designed to ensure that our students can fully embrace all of their learning opportunities and prepare themselves for their future roles in life. Our students have access to a Design and Technology Suite featuring:

• A Graphic design area
• A fully equipped workshops for wood, metal, and plastic work
• A CADCAM room with 3D printers

ICT Facilities

Diyafah ICT provision is embedded within all teaching and learning, with Intelligent Panels in all classrooms and ICT laboratories. These excellent resources are all aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching and learning within school. Diyafah encourages BYOD (bring your own device) for students to use on our Microsoft School Network.

Food Technology Suite

Our brand-new offering to our students is used to explore the breadth of the curriculum in Food Technology. The suite houses Siemens Kitchen State-of-the-art facilities, to enable our students to hone new skills at Diyafah.

Communication and Resource Centre

Large and pleasantly furnished, the extensive library at DIS supports an impressive array of fiction and non-fiction books and resources including on-line databases, maps, periodicals, journals, newspapers and videos. Fully networked student terminals are situated in the library for research and Internet use. All students have regular access to the library, fostering development of life-long learning, research skills and a love for reading.

Music Suites and Recording Studio

The School has a large purpose built music studio for the teaching of the National Curriculum as well as GCSE and A Level Music. In addition, there is a fully equipped recording studio, a sound proofed en-suite practice rooms where individual students can practice instruments or singing without disturbing on-going sessions. The School has a wide range of wind, string and percussion instruments as well as keyboards and other Music Technology equipment.

Creative Arts

Art and Drama is celebrated at Diyafah, where it is considered not only the mastery of skill and creative expression but also a form of communication and creative expression of ideas. Students learn to use this form of language together with developing the skills and techniques to utilise various medium. Students are encouraged to explore their talents within painting, drawing, printmaking, photography and acting allowing them to experience a wide range of techniques and applications.

Medical Room & Isolation Room

A hygienic medical room, equipped to regulatory standards and staffed by two full time nurses to attend to the first aid requirements of students and staff should the need arise. There is also a fully equipped Isolation Room to ensure a complete safe environment for our students.
