Personal Enrichment Program for Students

Feb 22, 2022

This is an opportunity for students to develop many personal qualities such as enhanced self- confidence, increased self- esteem and in many cases unlock their creativity and foster important life skills.
At Diyafah, we offer a wide variety of choices and is an experience where students can extend their learning in academics, sports, arts and more and are offered with the goal of providing entertainment and enjoyment. Enrichment doesn’t have to be only about the ‘brain’ it can also be about the body, not to mention that exercise does both very good – sports such as basketball, football, table tennis are a few of the physical activities we offer in the program
When it comes to activities, the goal isn’t purely entertainment, so while board games are great and can hold attention, it is important to strive for options that require deeper levels of thinking. On a basic level this could mean something like chess or checkers, or even the strategy of Monopoly (which has multiple themed editions for another layer of learning) or the word-focused fun of scrabble.
When you hear ‘Arts and Crafts’ you may immediately think about glue, paper shreds and big messes; but these activities can certainly be enriching, especially if they involve creating something new and different or something innovative if students are given a prompt and only a set number of resources.
Robotics can be a ton of fun, but also provides benefits like problem-solving, teamwork and even visual programming and who knows where involvement in robotics might lead – robotics engineer, programmer, designer.
Diyafah fully supports and provides personal enrichment both internally and with specialist external providers e.g., Robotics as we believe it incorporates topics which develop further curiosity in learning and is often something new and fun. Enrichment programs also helps students at the higher level identify subjects and skills they might be interested in. We also offer within our program, classes where students can receive advanced academic support and extra-help outside of the classroom setting.
Students spend a lot of their day in school and sometimes we wonder if it might be too much for them to participate in after-school activities, particularly if they have to travel, however the popularity of the Personal Enrichment Program in Diyafah has shown students really want to join and be a part of for many, a new and enjoyable experience.
